So I'm here thinking about what type of girl I am and here it is....

I'm smart, almost a nerd. I'm the type that studies hard and makes A's I love college and I'm going to miss it. Also, unfortunately I'm a little lacking in the common sense department. I get lost somewhere almost everyday, but I've seen a lot of the country that way. Some friends say that I'm the only one that can get lost on a one way street. It was funny once when a friend that's like me and I got lost at a doctor's appointment for Aleah.

I like to read, I read a lot. I don't read novels, I like biographical stuff and the Bible, I love to read Theological type stuff even though I'm not very theological. I love sociological stuff and books that I can learn from. Learning is my pleasure.

I'm not a touchy feely person, however, with Chris I'm a cuddler. If I give you a hug I really like you and you're one of my best buds. I hug guy friends more often than the girls and if I have to hug I escape with a side hug. I'm not into the frontal hugs. That's reserved.

I'm not funny but when I am I am really funny because it is unexpected. However, I love to hang around jokers if the jokes aren't try and I have to pull out my fake laugh.

I take a push to get going, I procrastinate but when I get in my groove I'm good at what I do. That's why I have to keep driven people around me. I keep some of my fellow procrastinators around me to so I don't get down on myself. I think procrastination is normal.

I'm reserved until I know you. I never use to be this way. After I know someone they get to see the real me which isn't reserved at all. In fact I can be very opinionated. I don't care about the little things but there are big issues that I care about relative to morals and things that I know to be true. I stick with these things.

I'm a loyal friend. Ask my friends, they know. If something goes down I'm not the one to run away. I'll give anything to see people painfree. I cry when people around me cry because I feel connected to them while they get through the pain.

I'm a counselor. Come to me with your problem and I'll listen and help you come up with a plan.

I give my time to my passions. Time is important it's like money you spend when it's gone it's gone and sometimes you'll be broke. I chose to spend time wisely, or I like to think that.

I'm the type of person that cries with you, laughs with you and gets angry with you. I'm close with my friends like that.

heading west

West not East Current mood: contemplative
Ok so I'm going through Beth Moore's book the Patriarchs and it is really speaking to my situation now. In it it talks about how "going east" is an expression for straying from God. Beth aligns this with scripture of how the jews in the desert went east-away from Gods' instruction and how Lot in Genesis goes East to what would become Sodom a city of sin. I found this so interesting. Anyway, what does this mean to me? Well Chris and I just moved West and this seemed to indicate that we are aligned to God's will. I think this principle can be taken to extreme and extrapulated beyond what is intended so rather than a "sign" I chose to see it as a "hope." Ok that might be confusing, either way I'm hoping to seek God through all this I'm not arguing that because I moved west that I'm automatically in God's will. I think it's a choice of who you are going to serve, Christ said take up your cross daily and follow me and that's what I intend on doing.

stream in the desert

stream in the desert
Ok so I'm back in the desert and as I read the bible all the desert stories stand out. Jesus, Hosea, Moses, and Haggar were in the desert when God's presense was with them. I find it encouraging; Specifically I read this morning about Haggar, Abraham and Sarai's servant who got pregnant by Abraham as Sarai wished to further Abraham's seed. Anyway Haggar ends up running from her situation and ends up in the desert by a stream when an angel appears to her. She's asked by God where are you coming from and where are you going? Of course God knows what she's running from and where she is going; She named God El Roi which means God that sees me. God saw Sarai in her troubles and cares for her. At that point she saw God. She found God in the desert. Pretty neat.In my desert I hope to always find God as the stream of water that I need to be refreshed.

friends' reply in love

A friends reply in love
I've been thinking about a friend all day long. She's always been a strong person that I've looked up to, I've seen her get through so much and still stand firm. I've seen her grow up in her salvation and cultivate a crop that God has made grow. Her family has been won to Christ and she has been a rock, like Peter was named, that Christ can use to build his church upon. The problem is she shares another trait with Peter. She cries to God I'll be there if you need me, use me etc but when it comes down to it Christ is calling out to her, "do you love me?" Three times he asked Peter and Peter replied, "of course." 3 times Jesus had to tell him "Feed my sheep." You know who you are if you even read this. Jesus wants you to feed his sheep. The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Chose to take up your cross and follow him to it. I love you girl!!!!

God's answers

God answers just not the way we think
I was going along with my study about Abraham and I'm in Genesis 23. In Genesis 23 Sarah dies at 127 years old. Abraham buys an expensive burial spot where he, and his sons end up after their death. The three promises God made to Abraham were:
1. Eternal seed
2. Eternal kingdom
3. Land flowing with milk and honey
were Gods' promises answered? Yes but....come to find out the only land Abraham rightfully ever owned was the place where Sarah was buried! He never saw God's answers to the promises he made him? No, and he didn't understand how God would fulfill the promises. Was he suppose to? No he was suppose to have faith that God would do what he said he'd do. The bible talks about Abraham's faith in Hebrews 11. Which brings us to us, do we always see how God uses us? No, sometimes it doesn't look like we are a part of the puzzle or that God answers our prayer but Isaih 55 says, God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours. As just a piece of the puzzle we can't see what the entire thing together looks like but God is using us for his purpose if we let him.

abraham

Blessed Abraham
Blessed Abraham
Abraham, leave the God of Terah, relatives and land,
Cleave to me; receive land, seed and eternal kingdom from my hand.
People will look to you as they’re carved from stone and to the mother of their birth (Isaiah 51:1-2)
And to promises you hold, that you can’t grasp the girth.
It’s me who blessed you, El Elyon one God of many names,
I’m most high from above with promises for your claims.
Travel west from sin and nations will follow but you’ll lose a few,
On pages of this book of life the old will become new.
Travel to and fro and from alters go where I’ll lead your seed,
Through separations from your loves, you’ll find I’m what you need.
Above you there are a few; you’re a father of a promise and nations,
Through your faith I will bear mercy and bless generations

A dicotomy, one for love

trust from lust how can you find?
They are dicotomous, not of one kind.
Trust is hope and faith not to find,
something that will leave you falling behind.
Trust is knowing the true
it's knowing your heart in what you do.
It's slowly gathering the seeds you sew,
and finding them growing in the morning dew.
Lust is when trust is not found.
It's not love or something profound.
It makes you soar til you hit the ground
,and is from a thought that is unsound.
Lust is fear that drives out love.
It protects your heart like a glove.
Nothing in it is from above,
Love, it is not made of.

life's dance

You call me to the dance of life, and I take your hand, fearing no strife.
As we start it's crisp and swift, the lustrious beauty in the lift.
Then I feel the floor beneath my feet and come swiftly in your grasp; we meet.
The shadows of two become a darker one,but this is just how the dance begun.
I'm tired.. I've danced the dance,I look for your assuring glance.
Something's wrong that don't belong,It drowns the melody of the song.
A fall causes the seperation,we keep up in frustration.
In step we were, now the shadows blur.
Follow the tune by heart play the song, go back to start.
tap the tune with feet, dance the dance and keep the beat.
Here I'll follow your lead, and the song that sings my need
,to push, touch and feel,my heart I won't conceal.
Remember the steady moves, through time we can't lose.
I am weak, you are strong,Hold me or I won't last long.

another false gnostic gospel, suprise!

Gospel of Judas
My initial thoughts
Writings that were accepted into the cannon of scripture had to fit all of the following criteria....1. correlates with what Jesus taught in public and at synagogues (which it doesn't)2. has to be strongly connected with one of the 12 (which it did before Judas was replaced right before pentacost)3. the manuscript was used in worship during the time after Jesus' death and before cannonization (it doesn't seem like it could be used because it doesn't glorify Jesus, instead it wants Judas to be glorified and justified-but the first shall be last and the last shall be first)The document is believed to be 1700 years old, that means it would have been compiled by the time of cannonization around 326 AD. It was rejected by several scholars who were trying to get books into the cannon not eliminate them. That's because it comes from the gnostics--none of their books got into the bible because like this one they don't meet the criteria.
It isn't prophetic, or relatable to the old testament like other new testament scripture
Romans 1:2 NIV Read this chapterthe gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures
I think this false gospel is used as deception and not from God. In the REAL gospels it says that Judas was possessed by the devil when he betrayed Christ.
Over all, this gospel glorifies Judas and not Christ and negates christian beliefs. (sorry I won't even consider to post a quote from it you'll have to look it up) We should not be happy about the way this is being presented in the media without equal representation of traditional christian beliefs.
Don't be decieved by what's false!
1 Corintheans 10 2-4,13-15
2I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. .......13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
Like I said it's a false gospel...
No Other Gospel Galationas 1:6-8,10
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!.... 10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Serve Christ, know the truth and be ready for battle to defend your faith and not be decieved.

Errr. So I'm cruising along and listening to a turn called Held and I get pulled over for speeding by a motorcycle cop. I forgot why I didn't miss Texas until that moment. So I was bummed because I am getting a criminal background check for my internship and I know that will show up. So I come home and tell Chris, fully expecting to get THE LOOK. You know, yeah that one. Well, Chris says, "that's ok." I look at him like he's nuts and he said, "I got one for running a red light today." We both blamed it on the cops here and laughed but in the back of our minds we were both thinking how much we are going to love ramen and macaroni the next couple of weeks.

will the real paul please stand up!

Will the real Paul please stand up, please stand up
hee hee, well my dad is/was a jew. He accepts Christ now and was baptised but he says Jews don't convert because salvation is first for the Jew then for the Gentile (romans 1:!6) and that we gentiles are grafted into the family tree through adoption, this is in galatians.
His background caused a lot of confusion in my faith for a while because he'd argue that Christ was a prophet but not the messiah because peace didn't come from him as prophesied. Now I know that Jesus was the prophet like Moses in Duet 18:15 (I think that's the verse if not it's 15:18) anyway. All of this not to confuse anyone I just wanted ya'll to know the background.
My dad is the only Jew in a small town and every christian wanted to "convert" him. He's reminded me of Paul this last year, his heart was so hardened to accepting Christ because he felt that by acknowledging Christ he'd be condemning his family. It got down right ugly, when I had to tell him that Christ was the only way, I showed him the verse that says, 'don't say you have abraham as a father because God can raise up children of Abraham from these stones."he even cried. A couple weeks later he called me and said he is getting baptised and had accepted Christ. Everyone was so excited.
Since he has become a believer he's been such a powerful witness. He's changed so much! He's new! Well he's playing Paul in a musical today in Clovis at a baptist church. I asked him how he felt about that and he said, "I love it, Paul is exactly like me." So in this musical he's kinda telling his testimony. It's so exciting I wish I could be there!!

a great story of a story

Chris' testimony
Wow, I've heard Chris tell his testimony twice this week! He took a recruit to dinner and forgot his debit card so he called me to bring it. I was invited to sit and eat with them and then the recruit said, "I don't know if ya'll are religious or not but I don't believe in God." I hesitated, I wanted to tell him what Christ did for him but I thought about my husbands career and that he'd be mad at me if I started something with his recruit. Before I knew it Chris proceeds to tell the guy, "yes we believe in Christ." Wow, he didn't even think twice or hesitate. Then, when we sat down the recruit became persistant, asking Chris questions about evolution etc and trying to disprove the bible. Chris calmly refuted all the arguements posed by the recruit. Then he proceeded to tell him about things that happened when he was in Afghanistan and how a friend of his helped him read God's word and how his eyes were opened to the truth. The recruit said he was going to win the arguement and called a friend then and there he said "Can you come here I need you because Post and his wife are shooting down all of my theories and I need your help here." His friend was unable to come.
Then we went to church and we were all sharing verses and things going on in our lives with an open microphone. Chris went to the front and grabbed the microphone and spoke.
I never thought I'd see the day when the athiest I married would come to Christ much less be bold telling his testimony everywhere. I thank God for his grace to save anyone who is willing to come to him!
God bless my husband!

this years lamb's blood

Passover
Well last night was the Passover feast. For the first time this year I really know what it's about. I remember a while back when my friend came to Passover. She told me that she prayed long and hard about it and didn't know whether to come or not because she is christian. At the time I was lost and confused in my relationship with Christ but I understood that Christ had celebrated Passover and that is how the Last Super came about. Anyway I didn't understand what I said then to it's entirety until now. We learned in New Testament class that Christ is the Passover Lanb. The one who was sacrificed for our sins just like a lamb would be sacrificed in the old testament. In the passover service a verse was a part of the service. This verse Christ quotes as refering to himself. The verse talks about the stone that the builders rejected has become the capstone. This verse tied it together for me. Wow, that verse hit my heart last night. Some unbelieving jews and christians sitting around a table and some of them have done just that, rejected the capstone. The Lamb to the Christians at the table meant Christ, his blood saved us, his flesh paid for our sins. He was a lamb that wasn't lame and was without blemish presented to God for us so that by grace we are saved through faith as a gift from God.I think Christians should know about Passover, how the Isrealites were saved from God's wrath by the lamb's blood. All of Passover is biblical and it tells of the redemption of God. A redemption that as Christians we recieve the same way. Last night I remembered the true Lamb of God. I was at the service and drank the wine and ate the matzo to remember Christ. His flesh and his blood, what a gift of God. What a fulfillment of the Old TestamentGod saved us through a sacrifice and now we can come before him without blemish and with forgiveness.

passover poem

The builders rejected the capstone,
the one from which eternity has grown
The Bread of life in endless supply
The Prophet like Moses which some deny
Has shed sacrificial blood, which poured out,
From his fresh remembered, life came about.
So we are presented without sin,
so when life is over it's not the end.
In his memory I eat and drink,
and of this sacrifice, is what I think.
The Lamb is presented for my sin,
the bloodshed cleanses me from within.
I'm presented to God, as white as snow
From God's gift of life, that he did bestow

holy lamb bone

I just have to say one more thing. There was no lamb in Clovis for the Passover service last night. My family went to every grocery store there to find one. Part of the service requires a shank bone to remember the Lamb who's blood saved the Isrealites from the 10th plague. Yesterday the dog, named Matzo brought a bone to my dad, she had dug up the bone in the yard from thePassover the year before!!! They bleached the bone and used it! Wow, just in time...whew!

macaroni week

Through Macaroni holy week
Well if you've been keeping up with my blogs you'd know that Chris and I got traffic tickets on the same day. They aren't cheap in texas!! Well I thought I'd eat macaroni and ramen this week to make up for it. That's not the case though. I think when the bread was broken at our last supper demonstration, and prayed over the multiplication amounted to me and my family having plenty of food! I actually gained 2 pounds!!! HA HA!! I thank God for these two pounds of health! Give thanks in everything right?!

to my love

To my love!
You told me about the long shift, the days and nights.
You told me about the commanders and their lovely wives.
You told me about chain of command, and how I would live by it.
But you didn't tell me how proud of you I would be.
You told me about the temporary duty and the many moves.
You told me about the overseas tours.
You told me about payday, and how we would stretch the dollar.
You didn't tell me about the honor I would feel.
You told me about the wives clubs and family support.
You told me about the Tricare.
You told me about base housing, and how no two are alike.
You didn't tell me that at the start of "God Bless the USA" I would shed not one, but many tears.
You told me about how Christmas would be in Germany.
You told me about the commissary and PX.
You told me we would need many sets of curtains.
You didn't tell me how our children would look up to you, and want to be like Dad.
You told me about the hard times and how we would have many.
You told me about the stress of being a military spouse.
You told me sometimes I would be a single parent, and that in spirit you would be with me.
But you didn't tell me that when I saw your uniform in the laundry, I would swell with respect.
You didn't tell me how much of a part the military would play in our lives and how I would never want it any other way!

wbu

WBU
wow, I've been attending Wayland Baptist for over a month and didn't add it to my schools on here. I must be crazy, I think it's because I'm getting my degree from Western WKU and not WBU. Anyway, I'm very proud of this school because they service the military and have campuses all over the world! I wish I could take every religion class they offer but I can't afford to.

The church
Our whole church, everyone of all ages, is reading the new testament in 60 days. It's so great to hear everyone taking about and all the questions that are coming up. There was even an open mic time on Sunday night when people could go up and ask the pastor about what they read that week. It really became "Try to Stump the Pastor Time"
I really get a lot out of going to this church, most importantly I understand how the members are like body parts working in unity for Christ to recieve the glory. Everyone there is so filled with love and compassion for each other. Chris and I are getting plugged into several of the programs there and it's going to be really exciting.

not whitety

not so whitey
notice I didn't spell witty lol.
Man, it's crazy living in west texas again. I forgot how white I was getting in Kentucky, now I'm mocha. Summer is just about to start and I'm getting pretty brown, I sat in church last night looking at my arms, isn't that funny. Several people have commented on my tan. I realise why this place is number 2 for skin cancer in the U.S. Anyway, reminding everyone to stay safe in the sun, use arbonne hee hee

Closing Day
Well, we close on our house Friday!!! I'm so excited the house is too cool! It's by a park with a track, it's 3 bedrooms, we got a garden tub and 2 walkin closets in the master bathroom, a covered porch, gardens, sprinkler system, double story shed that looks like a cute blue house, and for the first time we have a fireplace! It's a corner fireplace that's huge and beautiful.I can't wait for all the fun times and memories we are going to fill our new home with!!! Praise God for blessing us with a new home and a place to serve him from.
